There’s surprisingly little known about Hip-Hop artist Mic Kellogg. Kellogg hails from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has consistently been putting out great tracks for over a year, including his debut album, the aptly named Breakfast, which was released in 2015. Since then, he’s been supporting Noname on her Telefone tour, and has also been venturing into production, the first fruits of which were ‘Sometimes’, and the newly released ‘Hideout’. Both tracks have a home-produced feel which suits Kellogg’s chilled flow perfectly: ‘Hideout’ is accompanied by sparse piano chords and slowjam beats, and muses nostalgically on the safety Kellogg feels in his childhood bedroom. With tracks as warm and easy as ‘Hideout’, we can only hope that Kellogg continues to release more self-produced tracks in months to come. -HM
